La Premier League chiude i battenti per il Mondiale con la sedicesima giornata. L’Arsenal non sbaglia in casa del Wolverhampton ultimo e sfrutta la chance di allungo in testa a +5. Il Manchester City viene infatti beffato in casa dal Brentford nel finale, il Newcastle si fa sotto dopo aver piegato anche il Chelsea. Il Tottenham vince una gara assurda sul Leeds, successo in extremis anche per il Manchester United in casa del Fulham. Il Liverpool non ha problemi contro il Southampton, cade il Brighton in casa contro l’Aston Villa. Il Leicester espugna il campo del West Ham, Bournemouth facile sull’Everton, il Nottingham supera il Crystal Palace.
